Alfa Romeo
The photos show some restorations made on ‘70s Alfa Romeo wood parts. The woodwork is essentially create with an uncommon production method: an overlapping of mahogany veneer, natural tissue and mahogany veneer. This will simplify the production process but the pieces made in this manner are characterized by an excessive flexibility and inconsistency.
The reconstruction provides that the natural tissue is replaced by carbon fibre. Also all the wooden profiles situated in the central console are reconstructed in a more rigid way, starting from the plastic models, construction of moulds and subsequent pressing. These new elements are aesthetically comply with the originals but improving all the characteristics of mechanical strength
